1999 S-10 Code 340 Timing...

This truck is a 99 s-10 4.3L v-6 "X" balance shaft motor with side tower distributor. I've got a trouble code 340 (camshaft position sensor error). I've replaced the position sensor and the timing chain set. Still have the code 340. I'm unable to locate information on timing the motor. Without making any disconnection of plugs or hoses , I attached a timing light and the mark on the damper appears to be about 10-15 degrees advanced from the stationary mark on the timing cover at idle. Basically what I need is someone that knows or has access to what the proper procedure for timing this engine is. Hopefully I'm posting this in the right place. If not any help in the right direction would be appreciated. Thnx
