2008 Gmc Sierra Z71 Upper Ball Joint

I've got a 2008 GMC Sierra z71. The upper ball joint has gone out on it. I do have a Rough Country 2" level on it, but I believe the ball joint was damaged in an accident last october. I don't want to go back to the body shop where the work was done to try to have it covered because it was a miserable experience. I'm wondering if anyone can tell me if the whole control arm has to be replaced or if just the ball joint can be replaced. I cannot find just the ball joint in any searches on the internet.

Thanks.

Just went through this with a Cognito Leveling Kit. The replacement from Moog is too replace the arm and upper ball joint as one piece. My Cognito Leveling Kit A Arms are not pressed in and are replaceable. I posted a topic above this one sharing the Moog replacement part. You may not be able to just do the upper joint only. Both of mine were shot at 33K miles on the leveling kit. No hauling, towing or off road.

Check with a Pro Alignment Shop to verify.

yeah you have to replace the whole control arm since the balljoint is part of the assembly.

I'd do both sides at the same time.
