I'll Be Driving The New 2011 Hd Trucks Next Week

General Motors has been gracious enough to invite me next Monday/Tuesday to get some behind the wheel action on the new and heavily updated HD Silverado/Sierra. I'll get a chance to test the new setup on a variety of roads and with towing a trailer.

So, I'm at your disposal. What do you want to know? What do you want me to check out? Any requests for photos?

I've also driven the 2010 Ram Cummins, 2009 PowerStroke, and a 2007 Duramax- so I'll be able to do comparisons.

I'm curious to hear how the exhaust brake works out. That would be a nice upgrade to my '07.

pictures of the rear leaf springs and entire under chasis if it's not a big deal for you would be great! Is this only the duramax you will be testing out, or a gasser as well?

Yes, yes, yes! I am waiting for my dealer to price one for me. A gas 2500 . . . I will be towing a heavy horse trailer (gooseneck) with 2-3 horses. It will also be my daily drive to work, etc. So, anything you can tell me would be helpful. Like, is it really worth trading in my 2008 for this one?? Is it really that much better? Because I've worked all the kinks out of my '08 and wonder . . . .And is it really 2 inches taller? This would affect the level on my trailer.

Noted all the requests thus far. As far as I know, this will be a Diesel only drive, fyi.

Please take lots of pics on the undercarriage! I would also like to know if GM is still coating the new frames with their wonderful waxing coating  or if they have finally decided to move ahead into the 21st and e-coat the frames.

I'm back! The new trucks are amazingly impressive but I can't provide any driving impression specifics until after Monday (embargo date).

Here's a preview of the photo gallery I'll be posting later today (hopefully).
