In true form, I lunged in and posted before I posted an intro, hope there are no penalties for that Anyway, finally broke down and traded my Monte Carlo (04 Intimidator SS, blown, OMG MISS MISS MISS!!!!!!) for a 2007 Silverado Texas Edition. I live about 60 miles outside of Houston and for 10 years drove in to work every day and justified spending a gross amount of money on my commuters. About a year ago started working from home exclusively and couldn't justify keeping two cars on the payroll (my Monte + my project 97 Firebird), and I also couldn't justify keeping a car around that got babied so I traded the MC for the truck. Desperately needed the truck, anyway, since we have four horses and a yardful of dogs (DAWGS!) The dawgs are excited, but they're easily impressed, and I'm not too thrilled with a truck payment, but I still can't help liking it...a lot.

Anyway, I found this forum last night and I'm liking what I see - as tempting as it is, I don't want to start modding the heck out of my truck, because I expect it to last the next ten years, but I do want to take care of it the best I can. But that GM CAI intake y'all were talking about looks awful inviting....SHUT UP! My car knowledge is very basic, better than the average Joe, I guess, but not close to most of the posters here, so I'll probably ask a lot of stupid questions. So, thanks for being here, forum in general, and looking forward to reading more posts!

Oh great, another member, just what we needed! jk. If you stay on this board long enough, by the end of next month your truck will be modded, at least a little.

and the replacement! It's weird, but the truck I ended up pulling the trigger on was pretty much like a truck version of the monte (minus S/C)...In fact when the salesman was showing me his latest potentials I balked, and said, No, no it's BLACK with a BLACK interior (swore never again, too heartbreaking when it gets dirty and semi-neglected). But here we are.
