I already have a stripe painted along the bottom of my truck that was painted back before I bought the truck. I need to repaint it because of a rust repair and general wear and tear on the paint. I am wanting to take a less expensive approach to the problem. Therefore I am looking for an alternative to having a paint job at a shop. Attached is a picture of the truck, I don't know if you can see the stripe or not. Suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

If you wanted to do it cheap, just buy a sticker roll of pin stripe and apply it. I would mask off what I wanted to paint with masking tape and sand it, prime it, base coat it, and top coat it. I think it would look very good painted, not just some sticker anyone can apply. :) You'd be surprised what you can do to stuff with some primer and paint. Even the most illiterate people can make something look good with a rattle can and some time! :D

If you're talking about what brand, I ALWAYS use a rustoleum, primer then a flat color, then I use any good quality clear coat (one that want flake overtime). I never cared for any lacquer, I always use enamel. Lacquer is just too thin for any use on a vehicle. Duplicolor is also a good brand.

You'll need to be more specific about what sort of suggestions you're after. If you mean "tell me how to rattle-can it" then you need to understand that paint coming out of a rattle can will NEVER look as good as proper automotive paint shot out of a gun.
