Where is the onstar module or "box" in the 2008 Sierra regular cab? Is it under the drivers seat?

pretty sure it is in the drivers side windshield pillar, mine took a crap the 1st week I had my truck. Drained my battery 3 times. I have to get it fixed but for now I just pulled the fuse.

:D And where in the devil did you get that idea?

If you have the "truck style dash" in your Sierra, it's located under the HVAC controls behind the cover on the bottom of the dash.

If you have the "SUV dash" it's located under the HVAC controls behind the radio surround bezel.

Either way, the VCIM is a fairly large module, not something that sits in an A-pillar or anything like that.

OP: you're not another one of the tin-foil hat wearing paranoid folks that wants to rip your onstar module out because you think you're being spied on, are you?

No, I'm not that guy. I am not sure what is underneath my drivers seat. It is a silver box. A section of the carpet has been cut so it can fit there. I was wondering if it could be the onstar module. I am not for sure what it is.

Allow me to clarify myself. The cut is I am talking about looks as if it is supposed to be there. The carpet then folds underneath a piece ot the seat on the floor. It was not cut by mistake or with a knife, etc.
