Tire Size Diffrence - 2007 Gmc Sierra

Hi Guys

 

I have a 2007 GMC Sierra SLT, the tires on my truck that are stock are P275/55R20. A friend of mine has a set of P265/50R20 Dunlop Grantrex for me.

Will they fit my truck? also what is the pros and cons to going to this tire?

265/50/20 is 30.5x10.5

275/55/20 is 32x11

 

why would you want a shorter/thinner tire?

 

i see no pro's.... except maybe for 1/4 mile times.... sometime people like smaller tires for towing really heavy loads, but since they're P-rated you shouldnt be using them for loads that would matter anyway (in other words, for your trucks towing capabilities theres really no benefit to the smaller tire size... it'll handle the loads just as well with the 275s)

Matt- would you say a 285/65/20 is a good all terrain size for 33" tires on some factory 20's?

a 285/65-20 is a 34.6 inch tire...common 33's are 275/60-20.

Are you planning on running any lift? As previously stated... that tire is a 34.5x11.22.

 

If you're only planning on running something like a 2" leveling kit, your best option is 275/60/20s. (33x11)

Do what you said you were going to do in the PM!!! 3" body lift + 2" leveling kit.

hey guys i have a 08 sierra denali i what to install a 1.5 or a 3in body lift due to the AWD complications with a suspentions lift but thats another topic. do you think i chould fit 285/65/20 on with a 1.5 lift. has any one acomplished this with leveling kit, trimming or a little body lift like i want
