2008 Sierra 1500 "clack Clack" Noise Upon Startup

I have an '08 1500 and upon startup there is a "clack clack" noise. Im not sure if its a piston slap or something else. I fist thought it was low on oil but this has happened after an oil change. It seems to be more frequent when the truck sits in the sun. Is it the oil Im using (Castrol dino Oil)? Need some words of wisdom.

How many miles on her? Aluminum or Iron block? It sound's like your lifters, if it's still under warranty take it to the dealer. If not I've heard that syn oil can make less noticeable or even get rid of it. HTH.

How long does it last? Is it only cold start? Can you tell if it is coming from under the valve covers? Could be a lifter losing oil when shut down and pumping back up when started. Piston slap is possible. noisy injectors. A little more info is needed
