why would the same exact muffler, on two of the same trucks, sound different? Both 6.0 hd's. I just dont get it. One sounds clean and crisp and the othe sounds restricted.

Maybe one has a plugged converter.

at 42K miles? How would you know? It doesnt run hott, nor does it ever go above 210

What kind of muffler? Is one newer than the other? If it has fiberglass inside, it can sometimes blow out or deteriorate....

CAI?

Different years put in? Clogged cats?

Was one a Cat back exhaust and the other just a muffler swap?

Has one had an engine tune or chip put in it that changes the timing?

identical Blackbear tunes,

the louder, more crisp muffler is 8 months newer than mine,

same catback magnaflow exhaust

only difference i can see is he has a 6inch tip, where mine is 5 but common.

Both trucks still have both cats.

both trucks are 6.0's and 5 speeds.

another difference i noticed was that his piping comes out at a 45 behind the tire.

Mine comes over the axle, extends towards the bumper and then 90s out right underneath the edge of the bumper.

More crisp usually tells me it would be in the tune, thinking back to old carb'd motors.
