Chrome Rust

I am starting to get rust on the bottom of the rear chrome bumper on my 98. Is there a chemical compound that anyone has tried that they found worked well in removing the rust without taking off the chrome finish?

If its just surface rust, a good chrome polish should take it right off for you.

Coat it with something like wd-40 every now and then to keep it from rusting more.

Ya it is just surface rust, I will try the polish.

I haven't heard of wd-40 to seal it but my Dad said to use clear nail polish or something like that to stop the rust.

Nail polish would work, but if you go that route, do it right with some clear cote paint.

also a brilow pad works good on bumpers and such to get small spots off

I had a few specs show up on my rims and bumpers. I got a can of never dull from wal mart (bunch of other places sell it) and it took the specs right off. Made the chrome look like a mirror and they havnt come back. I usually try to polish up the chrome once a month on my truck too keep them away and it seems to be working.

Turtle wax chrome polish!!!! It removes rust also!!!
