Racing A 04 F150

ok a buddy of mine has an 04 f150 extended cab short bed 4x4 with the 5.4 3valve or whatever it is. His mods are.. cai, gryphon power programmer, single in dual out magnaflow exhaust. he wants to race me.. i have 04 silverado extended cab short bed 4x4 5.3, custom tuned, LT headers and 2.25 true duals with x pipe and glasspacks, and an airaid MIT (modular intake tube) do you think i have a chance at beating him? oh and btw i am running 285/70r17 tires on ar chrome wheels, hes runnin stock wheels and tires which i think are 275/65/18

That's a hard one. Those f150 are pretty fast, but they also weigh more than a half ton silverado. The only way to really tell is to race and see. I'm interested in the results. I know my SS with the 6.0l will easily outrun any Ford pickup I happen to stop next to at a red light. I've never lost a race with my SS.

The 5.4L is a piece of crap unless it is tuned. I went up against a 08 or 09 F-150 5.4 that was tuned (chip) with my Duramax (stock) a week ago from a dead stop and I had a trucks length on him and was still pulling away when he had to turn into his neighborhood. (It was a fair race, he asked if I wanted to while sitting at the stop light, and told me he had a performance chip and asked if I was stock or not) At least he had the courtesy to flash his lights to recognize defeat

really? of course the dmax is going to beat a that lol, you got like double his torque at half the revolutions.....to the OP i think its just going to come down to driver's skill, both trucks are about even, unless the ford gets the dirty jobs guy to ride along then your screwed

well me and this friend of mine raced last night.. the result: from a dead stop we ran side by side up until about 40 mph and then i started pullin pretty hard on him and by 80 i was about 3 lengths ahead of him. 2nd race we went from a 25 roll and i instantly pulled on him 3-4 lengths up till about 95 which is where i let off

off the line, most trucks will be about even for the first 2-3 seconds.
