4X2 replacement tires?

I can't wait for the stock Generals on my Sierra to die.  I've seen lots of good suggestions on replacements for you 4X4 guys but what about 2WD?  I have a balance weight on one rim that looks like it goes 1/4 around the rim!  I'm guessing the Generals are severely out-of-round?

I had the Firebombs replaced on my wife's Expedition, which has the same size you mentioned.  Unfortunately, I could only replace them with Goodyears because Ford was footing the bill.  I haven't tried them in the dirt or snow yet, but I anticipate they won't work as well as the Mastercraft Coursers (285/75/16) on my Sierra 1500HD.  Overall, though, the Goodyears are a huge improvement from the stock tires.  They ride well, and are pretty quiet.  If I had to pay for them, however, I would have gone with a set of Toyo Open Country or Michelin LTX tires.

What do you use your truck for?  If you're primarily staying on the road, then go for a more closed-tread tire.  If you play in the dirt, get something more aggressive.  Give us some more info about your truck and I'm sure a few people will step up and offer suggestions.

Best of luck to you.
