Satan In Mississippi?

So I think Satan has set up shop here in Mississippi. Its been down right ridiculously hot. I've been working outside my whole life (11 years, I'm 21 now) I'm working around 60-70 hours a week. Well this week is like 100-105 with humidity about 85% and heat indexes around 115-120. Actually had heat index of 122 the other day here. Its almost hard to breath outside, you're just baking! Even our Mexican workers are saying its some of the hottest temperatures they've ever worked in.

There is no end in sight either... Small chance of rain Thursday then Saturday-Tuesday all back into the 100's.

I know there are other people on here from the deep south. Who can't wait for winter and frost?

It's been brutal, even up here lately. Just kills me how the office jockeys whine about the weather, when they are only actually outside for about 15 minutes a day....and that's if they aren't in an enclosed parking ramp. ;)

Stay safe out there.

It's horrible here, also. The sweat just pours off your head. The humidity is horrible. You know what they say, "The Devil went down to Georgia."

Did he find anything of yours to steal??

It has been brutal. I got out in the yard at the crack of dawn on Saturday and got most of my work done before 10am. With the humidity, it was already getting freakin' hot. So having nothing to do outside in 100°+ weather, I decided to go to the range. Apparently, that was a pretty popular idea b/c it was full! I've never gone there and seen it full unless they had a big concealed carry class shooting.

Oh well, waited around and BS'd for thirty minutes and finally got a lane. After leaving that ice-box and going outside to leave, it was actually painful.

I got in my truck yesterday and it said the outside temp was 115... On the way home it got down to a brisk 105

Well there has been like 5 people die in Memphis this year from high temps. Then a small girl around my town went down a metal slide and got 3rd degree burns.

Its just ridiculously hot. I've never seen it this bad. Had the worst winter in like 100 years this winter. Got into the single digits in Mississippi which is unheard of and now I'm baking in 120 degree heat indexes.

I'm ready for winter!!!!!! Talk about working outside.......you should try working in a steel mill. 30-45 minutes doing something and you're soaking wet.

I can imagine man. We start work at 7 a.m. by 7:15 a.m. I have soaking wet underwear. And having the swamp crotch all day isn't a pleasant things. Can you say chaffing?

Are there a lot of places over your way breaking records? This heat sucks man, I wouldn't mind January weather all year round.

Well, my soul rotted away years ago, so no, there was nothing left of me to steal.

It's that "global warming" crap, although I think the thermostat has slipped past "warm" and gone to "hot".

Got a really good deal on a new Columbia coat back in April and can't wait to actually wear it for warmth, if that ever happens again.

Here's something I hope makes you feel a little cooler:

You haven't heard of The Wedge? Fold a paper towel in half and then in half again. I'll let you figure out the rest..
