Shock Install Problem

ok, so the shock install has been pretty smooth so far. It took me a while and the locking pliers are a life saver.

Im on the last shock. Front driver's side. I removed the front stocker already but the Shock i got in the mail wouldnt open up by normal twisting. So i yanked that sucker out and well, it wont put up any resistance when i push it down all the way (wont dampen?)

So i was wondering if i need to put the stocker back on or put this one one. Also, its a rancho 9000xl if youre wondering

just looking for advice. I plan on doing some google-ing but i need some answers so i can use my truck again :D

It's definitely a bad shock, send it back and demand that they replace it with another one. One of the seals must have been bad and it leaked the oil out. Was it wet and oily?

No oil or mess in the box or on the shock. Im just pissed cuz unless i put the stocker back on i cant do anything. Rancho will be hearing from me in the morning  I really dont want to run it on 3 new shocks and 1 old but i guess i dont have a choice

Yep, I guess not. I hate when something finally gets here (in the mail) and I've been waiting and anticipating its arrival. Then I try it out and it's a bust, and I have to have it replaced, but it happens to the best of us.  :D IIWM, I would've just went to autoparts and picked up the rancho 5000's, they're almost just as good. Plenty for a daily driver, IMO. Then I wouldn't have had to worry about getting the shocks mailed and the fraction of a percent chance they were DOA.

Haha, i wont get all angry at the customer service person. But it never hurts to ask/make-sure-you-get the fastest shipping possible  and i reinstalled the stocker so its ok for now.

By the way, when i finished the rears this afternoon i took it for a test run (with stock fronts) and it already made a big difference so im sure i will be very pleased with the final result its just a PITA when you get a malfunctioning part
