Stobing headlights

Does anyone know how to get the stobing light effect from your head lights.

 

I would like my headlights to strobe alternately when I either use my hazards or turn on a toggle switch.

I think people drill a seperate bulb into the headlamp assembly for strobes??

I live in Oregon and I am not sure about the laws on that, but I am fire fighter too.

Strobe and wig-wag are two different systems.  Strobe involves drilling and installing seperate lights, switches and power supplies.

 

Wig-wag can be added to existing lights somewhat easier.

 

Check out fire/ems supply companies and catalogs for specifics.

For the wig-wags, I wired them to my highbeams.  Pull back the accesory stick and they come on.  Seperate on/off switch for normal usage of the highbeams.

 

Strobes can be mounted in the grill area or wired to the parking lights.  It's easier to get the kit that drills into the parking/corner lights with seperate bulbs.

 

BTW, like the others said, check your local laws.  I do rescue diving so I have them on my truck.  Don't really need them but they look cool but I can only run white/amber in the front, no reds or blues.

If I'm not mistaken, our headlights already have a hole in them for a strobe bulb (covered with a blue sticker).

At my work we installed a kit call "Show Me" it comes with all bulbs, wires, and transformer box and it will allow the bulbs to strobe 3 or 4 different pattrens.
