Well, I expect the truck was hauling close to 8000 lbs with out a hick-up. Ran like a champ. Quite frankly, 8000 lbs felt about the same as 6500 lbs. I got a load of oak firewood with side boards and filled as full as I could get it. The Amish have lumber mills where I went camping this weekend and they sell the slab wood for $10 as much as you can carry. The one I went to has all oak slabs. Awesome camp fire wood. Anyways.. the old truck handled the load like a champ. The Campers load leveler bars kept the truck almost level...

No pictures cause I had no camera. :P Just have to take my word for it.. :P

I think I am going to have to hit the !Report button. But then a mod already saw it so.... :P

Good job though man! But for a really good story you should have pics. :P

Ah come on guys... it was just a load of firewood.. Heavy but a load of fire wood none the less... :P

I was just impressed how well the truck handled the extra weight.

Well I might be enticed to cut you a bit more slack if you drop some of that firewood off for my next camping trip. :P

Yes... Holds gears longer as well as speed when hitting hills, or grades in the road. Very pleased how it tows. I've towed with and without a tune and can objectively say yes. I'm not gonna say its night and day, but there's a noticeable difference for the good :P

Cool pic. Used to fill my 06 8' level with the roof full of wood. It loved it. Then I had to wheel it out of the woodss and a mile of off road. How I loved my work truck. Too much of a dandy to haul with this truck. Good thing the guys I helped cut wood for have beater Chevy's.

Hauled that little piece of wood. Probably close to 800 lbs.

We spend all week gettin' wood for our Saturday night fires. We usually get a pretty big crowd. Lol
