Child Lock On Seatbelt

It seems that my wife has a heck of a time with the seatbelt locking on her and pinning her to the seat. She then has to unlatch the seat belt and then re-latch it. I found in the manual where it talks about how to pull the seatbelt out slowly so the child restraint system isn't activated, but this happens while we are driving down the road.

Any ideas what to do?

I know a lot of the trucks have this problem on the passenger side. Both on the 800 and 900 series
