New Lower Ball Joint - Missing Metal

Posted similar question in suspension but no help....

i have new ball joint imstalled with lift kit last month. I got to looking on my front left, and there is about 1/10 of the metal lip/base of it missing. Can I just J-B weld around that base and silicone it up - grease squeezes out at that part and I don't feel like re-doing the ball. I had work done in miami, and I can't drive all the way back there for the ball (8-hour drive). Anyone with ideas?

Certainly not an authorized repair procedure but I would definitely silicone it up and don't go ape with your greease gun pressure. I wonder if another caulking that might be firmer would work better.

I wonder if I can get Moog to send me a new one? Anyone know if that is possible?

Id call them and ask. Pretty sure they have a warranty, and that should def fall under it.

Looks like an installer problem to me. Probably happened while being pressed into control arm. Not really Moog's problem. Bite the bullet and have joint replaced.

I called Moog, they won't replace the joint directly. I have to go through business of purchase (i.e. amazon). Called them up, and I just have to send it to them and they will refund the money. So, now I have to figure out how to change out that ball myself, cause I sure as hell don't want to pay for that again.

Anyone with experience in replacing the ball joints please lend me your expertise and instructions.
