Anybody running Pioneer TS-D's, Alpine Type R's, or Infinity Kappa's? I'm in the market and curious on what everybody else has heard.

MB Quartz. I love them they are the best on the market in my opinion...

Not a fan of the Pioneer, they seem/sound cheap with power to them, if you are hooking them up to the factory stereo they will sound ok. I think the Infinity's have the best sound out of the three you mentioned but the magnets are huge and sometimes hard to mount in doors without hitting the window when it is rolled down.

I was set on the Kappa's but a good friend of mine was telling me about the Pioneer TS-D's. I've had pioneers in my vehicles before and have been disappointed, which is why I'm asking around.

had mb Quart in the last truck for 10 years and i loved them but changed out the tweeters for infinity tweeters. infinitys are a little softer on the ears.

i have heard recently MB's quality is going down hill but that is just hearsay.

I would not buy pioneer speakers. Thats just my opinion.

Alpine is good, I like infinity better. you really need to go and listen to them. everyones hearing is a little different and what i like you might hate.

I am setting up my new truck up with orion HCCA62 components in the rear which I have heard and am very impressed with. And hybrid audio technologies imagine series I61-2 components in the front.

I have not heard the hybrid audio speakers yet but from what i have read they are incredible for the price. hopefully they work out!

I'd agree with that. Only caveat would be the bold statement. I think most people find the Kappa tweeters quite shrill. In my opinion the Reference tweets are much more pleasant to listen to. Someone else mentioned, however, that speakers are quite subjective. You may hate what I love.

If you are strictly replacing the stock drivers and not adding an amp, check out the Focal Access line. They come in at a price slightly higher that what you are looking at, but are great quality units. Not trying to complicate your decision, but they are worth a listen if you can find them in your area. Try to listen to as many different speakers as you can before you buy, even different lines by the same manufacture can sound significantly different...
