Bridgestone Dueler Value

I am looking to upgrade from the stock Bridgestone Dueler A/T tires on my truck. The current tires have 9k on them and are in great shape.

I went to a Discount Tire Store, and they said they would give me $30/ tire trade in credit. I feel like this is on the low side. What do you think?

Where would I most likely get the most money for the tires, Craigslist?

Yeah, $120 credit for tires that are probably 85-90% tread isn't very good. However, used stock tires don't sell very well. Most people won't replace their tires with another set of OEM tires. They usually upgrade one way or another (size, brand, style, etc.) I would try something like Craigslist (it's free) or a local vehicle advertising paper/magazine. You may find someone who needs new tires really bad, but can't afford to pay the extra money for brand new ones. Also, there's the occasional die hard with the "If GM put those kind of tires on my truck, then that's what I'm gonna run" mentality. That being said, you should be able to get double the store credit out of them easily. I would forget the store credit deal, put your new tires on, then advertise your stockers locally and on Craigslist.

put them on craigslist, you'll get more than $120. if i were selling them on CL and trying to determine a price, i'd do the following:

find the cheapest price a new set can be purchased for online

adjust for mileage - if tire is rated for 50,000 miles, multiply the price by (41,000/50,000)

take that value and mutliply by 0.7 to account for them being used

round down to the nearest $50

final price adjustment using your own good judgment

Couldnt have said it better myself. They are the reason I have more rock chips on a 7 month old truck than my 8 year old truck when I traded. I have never seen a tire that holds onto rocks as badly as these do, just to fling them out at 70mph.

Yup the Dueler's suck and will be toast by 20-25,000 miles. That's why no tire dealer will give you much for em.

I agree 100% that they suck. But, I think they'll last longer than that if maintained properly. I had 38,000 miles on my truck when I traded it, with the original duelers, and they probably could have made it another 8,000-10,000 before needing replaced. I didn't like them at all, but I was too much of a tight wad to replace them early. :(

Just sold mine for $275 on craigslist in June with 9600 miles on them. Sold them the 1st day the ad was out. Wish I would have asked more.

Sold mine for $100 each (<500 miles) on craiglist. Put the ad at $600 (clearly I overestimated their worth) and was patient...eventually took $400 and thought I was giving the guy a great deal, but I guess not so much. Wish I had sold my OEM rims and tires together...I've seen people get between $800-$1000 for the combo. I only got $300 for the rims.

Its funny you say that because as i was walking by my tires today and they are full of rocks i was thinking of just how shitty these tires are for holding on to rocks and that none of my previous tires have ever done that.
