Those are still awfully impressive figures on nearly every count. Especially for a Ford. I've been thinking for awhile now GM needs to get on the stick in the engine department. Every enging in the line up is barely competitive. And don't get me started on the 4.3 V6, seriously that engine is STILL available?! Sure it was fine 10 years ago, but I test drove one in a GMT-900. :D

We're still 2 years out for new engines in the next redesign.

Not sure about this but Ford still needs to fix ugly:

It appears that the 3.5TT got to 70 more quickly than the 6.2l. That would be impressive. What would have been more impressive is if they had comparison numbers from a 6.2l GM. Even though the numbers weren't standardized at all for comparison, you could get a general idea of the performance differences.

Why change something when it works so well?

Give me an 8cyl any day there is no replacement for displacement.

Love my 6.0 litre and smoked an f250 going up the hill by my house just

the other day!!!!!I know we are talking about a 6cyl tt but i'm not impressed until it has been

around the block towing and working for years......

Had a Ford and it let me down Never again went back to GM.

it does work really really well its just old, outdated, not enough power, awful fuel econ with it. i still think its a great engine. perfect engine for the blazers and s10s... wish it was in the colorado/canyons;

That TT engine is a joke. In the MUCH LIGHTER Flex...it gets 1 MPG better than a SUBURBAN.

You would have to drive that ugly Flex for 23 years to pay off the $3,000 premium that the TT engine comes with ($3K in the Taurus SHOW/Flex/etc)

And wasn't it just 2 years ago that Ford was chest thumping because the 4.6 V8 was as efficient as the V6 they offered in the '08s thus they didn't offer a V6? Now they are offering a V6 and chest thumping about it? Make up your mind already.

Here is the cost breakdown for the new boat anchors on the 2011 F-150:

Figures are what it will cost you over the "included" 3.7 V6

5.0 - 360HP $1,000

3.5TT V6 - 365HP/420TQ $1,750

6.2 411HP V8 - $2,995

$1,750 for an engine that...with all of it's complexity, increased costs (both maintenance and repair) cannot muster any better mileage than a cheap (to run and maintain) V8.

When will Ford stop failing and actually do something worth issuing a press release over?

"When it comes to trucks, small is looking like the new big. That’s why Ford is said to be planning its first-ever midsize pickup. With smaller size and less weight promising better fuel economy, the rumored F-100 looks like a smart move for the company and consumers."

That article is way old. I'm pretty sure they've canceled the F-100 project.
