Will 17's Fit Where 18's Came Off? 2010 1500

I had an issue with my 06 Z71 Sierra 1500 Crew 4x4 where I found some 16" factory wheels that I was going to put winter rubber on....they wouldn't go over the brake caliper on the truck as the Z71 came with 17" wheels and larger front brakes. Soooo...I am picking up a 2010 Sierra...same truck...1500 Crew 4x4 Z71 and it comes with 18" wheels. Can I run some factory 17" wheels or are the brakes upgraded with the off-road package on the 2010's as well? Seems I can find take-offs and used 17's easier than 18's on-line.

I'll second that. They will work. I went from factory 20's down to 17's. Check your spare tire. It should be a 17. They wouldn't give you a spare that won't fit. :D

They will work. My 09 Sierra came with the 18" wheel and I fit a set of 17" wheels from an 07 Yukon onto it until I found some matching A/T wheels. The TPMS even worked.

Those wheels almost look too nice for snows. I've used the Winterforce tires in the past. A little noisy (especially with studs) but I went never had to wait for a plow or a tow. Now using Blizzack DM-V1 - same capabilities with a quiet and smooth ride (they don't tear up my driveway) but they're much more expensive.
