So I've been seeing commercials of the new app. It should be available this fall, but im sure there is a test market somewhere. Just wondering if anyone has it... Any reviews?

I thought this was for 2011 Chevy's/GMC's only? I was actually pretty mad when I heard that. I know technology increases etc etc, not really mad about that, more so the fact that from I have read it is the same onstar as the 2010. Nothing added, nothing really changed, other than some programming. Could be wrong, that's just what I read. I called OnStar and they said there is nothing they can do, not even a simple reprogram of the onstar. They said GM keeps that stuff VERY lock-tight. When I called the GM technical support number onstar gave me, they acted like they had no idea what I was talking about.

So does anyone have an idea of when info would be released? I'm thinking of having a viper remote start added but if they support the app on 08's I would just stick with OEM.

According to On-Star Facebook:

"We're quickly working on solutions for older vehicles. We’ll keep you posted on updates as soon as they are available."

I think it's silly that it;s only for 2011 and up. I hope they make it backwards compatible. I wold like it on my '10 Sierra.

Also it seems like they don't have it for blackberry, just android & iphone which I think again is a big mistake with the number of business people driving caddy's etc and having blackberrys.

CBR9ider, so you got yours to work on your 2010 truck? I get a message stating my vehicle is not supported. :dunno:

Crackberrys are always last to get new apps. Im sure it will be available once they upgrade the app software to support older vehicles.

I dont think it's silly, typical marketing execution. It's a new feature for 2011 to push sales of 2011 models, once the new-ness wears off and it's no longer needed to push sales it will be released for older vehicles (my $0.02)

Just downloaded and set up was easy. Works great so far using the Droid Incredible.

how? your profile says 2009 vehicle, it is only for 2011. the rest of us get "vehicle Unsupported" error and the app won't even run.
