Driver Window Issues

So i dropped my truck off for warantee work today as I am about to void it . Two issues were the driver window squeals intermittently and the button doesnt always work to make it go up and down. I usually have to try another window and then go back to it and it works. So the dealers tech said he couldnt reproduce either symptom but he greased up the tracks. As soon as i got to work tonight and put my window down to swipe my badge.... SQUEEEEEEAAAAAAAAAK. Terrible! I cant live with this! Any TSBs you know of, or fixes that i can just do?

What are you going to do that would void your warranty?

It seems that with this cold weather, my 09 Silverado is also experiencing this same exact problem. Been happening now for about the last week, but only in the early mornings when it is colder. It doesn't seem to do it when it has warmed up.

this is lame... I wish the LT version had manual sliding windows like WT, more realiable...

My truck does the same thing. It does it only when it's cold and if I roll it up and down a few times, it stops. I took it to the dealer to have them check it out and they did the same thing, greased the tracks. It started doing it again a few weeks after so I just greased them myself. It never does it in the summer or when it's warm, only when its cold. Even if it's cold outside but it's sitting in the sun and is a little warmer it won't do it.

 

I don't think it's the actual tracks that the windows slides in but more with the weatherstripping/felt that rubs against the window.

They did grease it, it did nothing. I read elsewhere that it is the weatherstripping so im going to tell him that when i go back for the seats. Mine has been doing it all year. I thought maybe it just needed to be greased...guess not!

 

Im doing a level and bodylift and they said it would void the warantee so i should get anything i want checked done first. Also my 36000 mile warantee is almost up, im at 32500

So I took video of my window noise just in case I get the good ole "cannot duplicate" when it goes to the dealership on Wendesday.
