This is fantastic. It make the pitiful 40MPG Fiesta even more obsolete than it already is.

But but but..... doesnt it have one of those unreliable expensive turbo motors that wont last and be expensive to fix like Ford....

Or is that a double standard that only applies to Ford. Welcome to the 21st century where turbo engines will become more and more common. Kudos to GM for getting such good mpg. I was actually surprised to be honest how good it was. Its not worth the extra price imo over the regular Cruze though. It does make a marketing statement if Gm can figure out how to market it.

Its a nice car, but I looked at some at a dealer and the sheet metal is paper thin. IMO its not worh as much as they want for it. Nice looking car though.

I'd say get used to it. It will become more and more common place.

How is any of the relevant to the Cruze getting better mileage than the tin-can Fiesta.

I STILL believe that a high-strung smaller engine is a far worse choice than a n/a, bigger engine that just loafs along creating tons of power with less stress on the engine.

That being said, I trust GMs turbo engines a hell of a lot more than Ford's as GM has proven their engines over and over again. But to assert that you need a high-strung little hampster of an engine to get good mileage is absurd. The Audi A8 AWD gets BETTER mileage than the mediocre Ford Taurus SHOW/Lincoln MKTaurus...and that Audi has a more powerful, proper V8 engine. The new Hyundai Genesis will have a 420+HP 5.0 V8 and it too gets better mileage than a mediocre Taurus SHOW/Lincoln MKTaurus.

So...why, again, are you shilling for Ford and their V6 engines that get WORSE mileage than more powerful V8s?

I have to agree here.

I've actually seen a few on the road here and they look pretty good!

I've always been a Honda guy when it comes to small cars (really like their motors and components), but I'll have to check this Cruze out closer. Looks pretty good!

We left no stone unturned or piece of sheet metal un-weighed,”

Great. It's getting even thinner.

I can't believe they would even advertise that. I can see the bill boards now:

Cruise. Now with paper thin sheet metal for better fuel economy. Thinner than Mary Kate Olsen's anorexic tummy.

Ugghhh...that pic's enough to make me sick. And i'm including it in my quote so everyone has the pleasure of seeing it again...
