Need New Shock

Recommended Posts

While swapping out my summer wheels for winter, I got to the passenger side front. Jacked the truck up and removed the wheel, while grabbing the other wheel I noticed a green oily puddle underneath that side. After looking figured out the oil came from the shock. It is my understanding that the shock is toast, I am told I can drive like this until I get some new shocks. So, that being said, do I need to replace both sides in the front? Where can I get a good factory replacement for a good price, I am in the process of buying a new house and things are a bit tight right now.

Thanks for your help

Always replace in pairs. I have been happy with monotube reflex from monroe

I have sold Monroe shocks for years.... The Reflex Mono-Tube is the best ONE ON THE MARKET... Hands down. I have tried all brands over the years, but the Mono-Tube is the shock. They sold me on the first set I installed on my truck years back.

My two shinny pennies...

as previously stated the reflex is the way to go, not sure do you have a strut design in the front or a simple shock I know my 07 Sierra has a strut not sure of the change over date. The ride will probably feel horrible to you for the first 1000 miles because you have become accustomed to it being so soft from the blown shock. Definatly replace the pair if not all 4.

The 07-11's have coil overs. I called them struts before and got pounced on. You can't go wrong with the Bilsteins.
