I really don't see how they could have any excuse. All the articles said this was the most evenly matched pair of trucks they have ever seen. It was even a Ford engineer driving them both! :P

As always though, its a win some lose some...the Camaro isn't exactly kicking the stangs butt. But for now we definitely have the heavy truck prize.

why can't ford just accept defeat? it dosen't make them a shitty truck..most people don't race towing

Very true, I don't know how we ever made it with the 6.5L Detroit diesel, wasn't it like 170hp and 350 ft-lbs, and around the same for the other brands.

i think your giving the 6.5 more credit then it deserves lol, i never knew of the detroits until i realised how far back cummins and powerstrokes went and when i researched it and saw first hand, then i knew why i never heard of the detroits..they have their loyalists, the ones i've seen are old men that roll into work with them rasping and coughing away..

Until the 6.5 came around, Detroits were only in medium & heavy duty trucks.

Thinking of swapping a 4-53 into your pickup?

I wonder if the Cummins owners could better that in the noise & smoke dep't?

How can Ford release that press release after getting their rear ends whipped and still say they are best in class? Doesn't make sense to me. They refused the challenge because they know they will lose. GM purchases a Ford and makes it look foolish then Ford claims they are still best in class? They need to admit they are not the best, if they were, why decline the challenge?

its called marketing, their sales could take a hit if they came out and said "oh yeah we have good trucks but the duramax is better"...the automarket is very cut throat like politics, every brand has loyalists and by saying they are the best they feed the ego of those people..leading to people staying with the brand overtime

Brought tears to my eyes.

Imagine pulling to a stop light next to a guy w/ a Cummins equipped Dodge?

Maybe GM could've used the 4-53 instead of that Olds' POS in the pickups LOL.
