One of the contractors that comes in my work has one on his blackberry and it is extremely durable. I have one of the cheap verizon cases on mine now with the screen protector and it still feels like if i should accidentally drop it , it would break.

i got the roots case for my blackberry, like an otter box, but its tough and thick rubber and it comes with a screen protector. I love that thing you can literally throw my phone across the room and it doesnt hurt it. Its worth the money its saved it alot. But my gf works at best buy and they are like $45 and i got mine for $10

I don't have an Otterbox for my phone, but those cheap silicon cases aren't shock resistant. I believe the Otterbox cases are.

 

If you drop your phone from 6ft off the ground, even with the 1mm rubber skin, the 'shock' of the drop still can crack the screen. The more expensive cases (usually) try to soften the 'shock' of the landing.

A friend of mine had an otterbox on an iphone fall from about 40-45', banged all kind of steel piped handrails on the way down, picked the thing up and it has worked fine. I'm sold on them.

Got the case today.. LOVE IT!

 

It came with a monster size holster to clip on a belt which i wont use, but it is sweet! I took some pics to show you all.

 

It comes with a hard shell case with screen protector built in. Then there is the rubber case that goes over it all, with removable plugs to cover ports from water... It is not completely water proof as water can still get in from the speaker / camera / and mic holes , but if you accidentally dropped it in a puddle or something it would have a lot better of a chance surviving in this case! It is pricey but i highly recommend it!

I have the case-clip that was originally out with the X. Got mine a week after they came out and love it!

this came with a belty clip to hook onto pants but it hold the whole casing of the phone / and otterbox case. it is monsterous! I chose not to use it and just drop the phone in my pocket.
