Update on the '03 order

Just an update on the order.  Talked to the dealer today, and he said I got what he called a "preliminary TPW" of 9/23!!   :)

He said when they firm this one up it usually comes with an estimated ship date as well, so I may not have to wait too much longer.  Oh yeah!

I took my Duelers off and replaced with the Deathstones that came with it (when I send it back), and OH MAN what a difference - and I don't mean in the positive!!  They ride rougher, handle less well, and squeal easily when pushed even a little.  But I decided to put the miles on them as I have to go to Chicago (for a trade show) and bring back some wood for a friend of mine.

Sure will be glad to get my Duelers back, though.  As I had them off, I took the liberty of cleaning them up with bleach-white and a nylon brush - look good now.

BTW if any one wants to follow the original "new '03 vehicle" post I started, here it is:

Hey man, that's awesome! Let me tell you, those preliminary build dates are pretty much on right on target. They said mine was 9/16. The dealer wrote me yesterday saying he got the invoice on Saturday and that the truck is on its way. He said it only takes a week, and then another two days to install the moon visor, bed liner, tonneau cover, and mud guards. Man I can't wait! I know what you must be going through! :D

Congrats again!

Thanks guys, yeah it's tough waiting, but I guess that's half the fun - anticipation, right?

JSM, that's great!  Be sure to get us pics when you can!  Enjoy!!  :D

Be out for the next 3 days, checking in again Thu or Fri and who knows, may have a firm date by then?

What trade show?

The Assembly Technology Expo @ the Rosemont.  Actually the wood thing is unrelated to the show - oops, I didn't make that very clear, did I?

No i understood that.  Just wondering what the trade show was for.  I know there is the large manufacturing show in feb i think at mccormick place

Yeah, there's some really large shows that meet @ McCormick Place.  Been there a couple of times.  Most of the shows we attend, or exhibit are usually no larger than what Rosemont can handle, and lately, with the economy, they are even shrinking in size and attendence.

Well guys and gals, just got the call today - my truck was invoiced and shipped on 9/25 (this past Wed), and shows a "shipping end date" of 9/30!!  He didn't know where it was built, just in the US   :uhoh: (prob. Pontiac East; no offense Oshwa! )

That's 2 weeks from acceptance to invoice, so assuming it shows up by no later than Mon the 30th, that's 19 days!!

Geez, now I gotta replace the windshield (has one 1/2" rock hole and a repaired 1/4" one), and get the topper off - glad I put the Fireblowns back on too.

I'll get the wifey to borrow the work digital camera and get some pics of Old Green as well as the new Blue posted at some point!

More updates coming when I pick it up!!  :uhoh:  :D  :)

Check and see if it has a logo of the state of indiana on the door.  Might have also been built here

Congrats

Originally I thought they were only building the 2WD in Ft. Wayne, but I guess that's not true in your case, right?

Hey either way, will be glad to get it! Got relatives in the general Ft. Wayne area anyways, so that's A-OK!
