2008 Suspension Lift

I have a 2008 z71 crew cab. I would like to get a 4” or 5” suspension lift. I'm currently running 265/65/r18. I would like to run at least 285/75/18. Do I need to get different size wheels? What lift would you recommend? With What Tires? He is what I have been looking at so far:

 

1. Rancho (4”) ~ $1,500-2,000

2. Superlift (4”) ~ $1,600

3. BDS (4”) ~ $1,800

4. Fabtech (4”) ~ $2,100

5. Skyjacker (3-3.5”) ~ $1,500

6. ProComp (4”) ~ $1,700

7. Rough Country (5”) ~ $1,000

8. Tuff Country (4”) ~ $1,700

 

These are uninstalled prices.

 

Do you have any other companies to look at/recommend? I will probably be adding a bumper replacement with grille guard too.

RC 5" in my opinion. I've heard nothing but good stuff about their 5" and 7.5" lifts. Or the cheaper route for the 4" would be the CCM 2.5" leveling kit and the Zone 1.5" body lift for about $300 for around 4" of lift.

The 285/75/18 measures out to a 34.8" tall 11.2" wide tire. I'm not sure since it's only 11.2" wide but 35x12.50 won't fit on the GMT 900 without at least a 6" lift.

Also I can give you a couple of places to check for lift prices that beat the BDS website on their lifts. I paid 1600.00 for a BDS 6" with gas shocks and braided brake lines.

285/65/18 is barley a 33" tire (if that) I was told, which I have them in the nitto grapplers in my garage up next on my truck . Right now, I have 285/60/18 toyo open country, and they measure out to be 32". But I think brad is right, if your going to try and fit 35" tires on there, you would need close to a 6" lift, but I'm not sure. Personally, in my opinion, the best look is a 4"-5" lift with 33's (depending on the truck, I've seen even some 6" lifts with 33's that looked good). I'm just not much of a fan of the "stuffed" look.

And I Wasn't saying a 6" with 35's was stuffed, I meant that a 4" - 5" with 35's would be to stuffed for me. Your 6" with 35's looks good.

That pic is just the BDS 6.

My tires measure out 35x12.2 according to MT's website. The formula measures them out to 34.8x12

I never actually measured them but going by MT's site they are a true 35.

 

But I agree that the GMT900's look nice with a 33x12.5 or 33x13 with a 6" BDS and you don't have to mess with changing the gears :fume:

I think I am leaning towards the BDS 4" lift and run 33's. What places should I check for decent pricing other than their website?

I'd also suggest seriously considering getting the 6" lift. It cost almost, if not exactly, the same. Doesn't tower over 33's bad and allows you to add 35's later if and WHEN you decided to do so.

Most people regret not getting the 6 after they got the 4.

      Because single shot injectors are ancient and multi hole injectors provide smoother running engines and sharper throttle response due to the fuel being atomized better..the best lead I have is a 24lb blue top injector almost everything matches up but the injector will put out about 26lb/hr which is just outside the gm threshold.figured id ask here to see if there was an absolute answer

      Why is my question?   Any change in injectors requires a tune. Unless you are going back with the OEM part number or a newer part number of that same injector.   Any size difference or type difference like the EV6 style injectors all have different injector data for them. And there is no EV6 injector that matches the factory 25 lb/hr size that your truck comes with. I've been messing with these trucks and tuning them for a long time and what you trying to do doesn't exactly make sense to me.

      My 6.6 gas lt8 had lifter noise with 28000 miles bought new 2026 and while driven to dealer it threw #1 rod bearing “HD my ass” good luck with yours i hope it don’t turn a rod bearing!

      Thought it was raining this morning when we woke. Nope. Dew point was over 80 F and humidity 98%. Zero visibility distance. Everything was 'sweating'. I've seen rain come out of clouds but never out of Pepper or the tree trunks.    Wicked storms just missed us sliding off to the east but by blocks. Heat index about 110 F with air temp in the 90's.    This is  our third wave this month of multiple days of this type of weather. And yet the grass is going dormant and the ground is cracking this side of the street and water up the the hood opposite. Just weird stuff going on.
