2008 Sierra Denali Vs. 2009 Tow Ratings

I'm sure this topic has been discussed previously but at the risk of repeating it I will ask again. Does anyone know why the 2008 SD is rated at 8300# towing capacity while the 2009 SD is rated at 9300# ? Were there changes to chassis, rearend etc. between those years? If anyone can shed some light on this it would be appreciated.

I believe that is when the Denali got the 6 speed.

There's no difference at all between the 08 and 09. They were underrated in 08. GM bumped the rating for advertising and competition.

Nope 08 denalis have the 6 speed as well. But I dont know why the changes in the rating.
