Is My Denali Safe To Drive?

Hi, I am worried about being stranded after the shenanigans my 2003 yukon Denali pulled on me this weekend. It has been wet and rainy here. I drove to a friend's house approximately 12 miles. When I got back in and started it up I got these messages STABILITY DISABLED and REDUCED ENGINE POWER. The little picture of the engine was lit up but not flashing. My friend checked the fluid levels all were good. I shut it off/started it back up and on the third time the messages were gone. The little light was still on though. My friend said it may be just re-adjusting itself so I drove it home. This morning I started it up to take it to the shop and it runs fine! No messages no lights.

 

Now I don't know what to do. Should I take it to the dealer? Did it fix itself (that would be nice)? Is this a forewarning that I will soon be stranded with my young baby on the side of the road?

 

If it's any help, I am proactive about maintenance and keep my vehicle in good repair. Being a single mother I do need to watch my pennies... but a dependable vehicle for my baby is paramount.

 

I did a search on this forum but could not find my particular problem where the truck was fine the next day. Thank you!

Could be as simple as a faulty sensor or connection.

 

The DTC is saved in the computer. Drop it off and let the dealer fix it and you'll be all set.

 

As a general rule... mechanical systems dont have the ability to fix themselves. But there can be intermittent issues, so unless you get it repaired the issue will still be looming.
