Hi,

I am currently installing a Kenwood KDC-X994 in my 2002 GMC Sierra. I can't find an ACC power source for both my stereo or my remote turn on wire running to my amplifiers. I obtained a radio wiring schematic from the dealership. It shows that 0.5 DK GRN is supposed to be hot only in ACC, RUN or RAP and will lose power when the door opens. I put a multimeter on the dark green wire and it shows a constant 12v+, no matter if the door is open or even when the truck is turned off. Same goes for the orange wire, which I know is the actual constant 12v+. There aren't any other 12V+ wires in the harness, with the exception of the dimmer. I read where some people ran a wire from their stereo to the RDO fuse in the fuse box on the drivers side. When I did that, my system still stays on. I just want to find know where I can tap into so the radio will have ACC power and it will shut off when the door is opened. I included pictures also. Thanks

Did you buy a wiring harness to wire the radio to the truck? The red wire in the harness is constant 12V. If you did not I would reccomend buying one from Best Buy or what ever your local car stereo shop is. It will save you a lot of headaches....

Yes, I did buy a wiring harness. The problem seems to be with the green wire. I took it to a local radio shop and the guy there told me it had to be something wrong with my BCM and that I should have it looked at soon.

Thanks for your reply.
