What I Really Miss....

I had an. 02 Silverado that had the sun visor extensions built in.

My 09 Silverado doesn't have that.

I could use that on some days.

I guess they thought it saves them a few dollars verses our comfort.

Oh well.....

Any ideas what to add on to make the visors extend?

the visors extend on the bar themselves.. no need for the second part (which was prone to breakage anyway).

pull the visor out and you'll notice it slides back and forth on the anchor bar.

WOW..............I had to just go out right now and try that..........Amazing.

You learn something new everyday.

Thank you.

See what you have done!!! You now have all of us idiots running out to our trucks and checking if this is true. And yes, it is true. I just ran out and checked. Anyhoot, I was wondering about the slide outs missing too. THANKS!! (for the exercise)

Dontcha just love when ya THOUGHT you didn't have a feature and ACTUALLY DO? Heck, I didn't know that either... LOL

Of course, I am tinted, so... can't say I ever thought I needed it.

I'll have to check mine tomorrow. I didn't know that the visor slid over either. When I got the truck tinted I had them put a nice dark piece across the top of the windshield. Actually I've never lowered the visors because of the tint strip.

I like this feature, no sun blasting the side of your face, even with tint! You really miss it when you don't have visors with any kind of extenders, like a crappy 07 Colorado company truck and then you have a manilla envelope rolled up into the window, yes rolled up no power, to block sun where the visor doesn't!

I see in your other post you discovered it moves on the bar...

I'll say this: Ford has it right with having 2 visors so you can have one on the windshield and one on the side window, so you don't have to move it, really convient when you are turning down different streets in town.

GM had this in the 90's on some trucks. Had a buddy with an S-10 with them.
