4wd Use

The old saying for a 4x4 is that it's better to have one and not need it than to need one and not have it. For those of us who don't find ourselves off the beaten path very often is there a minimum frequency that we should engage the 4WD function to exercise the fluids and tranny?

i would say no, as the front diff has synthetic fluid in it which dosen't expire too easily...i would try to use it maybe once a month to insure it works...back in the day with pig's fat in the front diff it was wise to use it a bit but nowadays its not a neccesity

I've never once used 4wd since I've had mine, so......

Its a good idea to put it 4WD every few months but only going in a straight line if on pavement, you only need to do it for about 4-500 feet then take it back out. This will keep things moving and engaging in the trans case.
