Installing An Auto Dim Mirror In A 2011

Just an update. Purchased the 15816792 mirror and it was just as simple as unplugging removing the manual dim mirror and plugging in the auto dim mirror and mounting.

 

Now why GM didn't just make this the standard isrv mirror is beyond me. Now if I could get the DL3 mirrors my '08 had...

 

 

Does your onstar still function normally, where did you get your mirror

i just recently purchased this mirror on ebay. installed it last night and it was a flawless install...plug and play...

I paid $50 shipped for it on ebay.

 

 

I found one on ebay from a 2010 CTS-V. Does yours have a compass this one says it does but i don'"t see where it would show on the mirror

last link is the GM mirror in aftermarket form... Gentek is the manufacturer of the GM mirrors:

 

$79 is a tad cheaper than $900 methinks.

no, mine does not have the compass...which is perfectly fine with me as it is displayed in the dic.

Why? They make the trucks better.

 

(It was standard on all Silverado LT models in 2006. As was the rear window defroster. And outside dimming mirrors with turn signals were optional on all LT1 and LT2 trucks , standard on LT3 trim.)

I also need a P/N for a mirror from a "10/'11 LTZ with navigation. I am pretty sure that will give me what I need.

I am new to the site and have a 2012 Silverado 1500. Will the 15816792 mirror be a direct replacement to get auto dim and onstar to replace my on star and manual dim mirror? Thanks
