What is the weight that the airbag light comes on when someone sits in the passenger seat? I'm just curious. My girlfriend always sits over there and sometimes it comes on and sometimes it doesn't. It seems to come on after she eats though which is pretty funny. But I doubt it is that sensitive...or maybe it is. IDK. What what is the weight for the light to come on?

I think it is the neighborhood of 60#.

I have no idea where I got 60# from. I did not see it listed in the manual.

 

But here is a section from the manual:

 

If a person of adult-size is sitting in the right front

passenger seat, but the off indicator is lit, it could be

because that person is not sitting properly in the seat.

If this happens, use the following steps to allow the

system to detect that person and enable the right front

passenger frontal airbag:

1. Turn the vehicle off.

2. Remove any additional material from the seat, such

as blankets, cushions, seat covers, seat heaters,

or seat massagers.

3. Place the seatback in the fully upright position.

4. Have the person sit upright in the seat, centered on

the seat cushion, with legs comfortably extended.

5. Restart the vehicle and have the person remain in

this position for two to three minutes after the on

indicator is lit.

If it's anywhere 60-70 lbs. then my sensor must be off. She prolly weighs around 110-115 lbs. No where near the 60-70 lbs. mark.

My 10 year old son is under 70 pounds, and he is heavy enough for the sensor to always "see" him.

must depend on how much you have pumped the so called girlfriend up that day...she may have a leak or somethen from extra wear and tear
