Ignition Problem

i have a 95 sierra that i lost the key to so i replaced the ignition cylinder.when i turn the key the dash lights will come on radio will come on but the truck wont crank at all. i dont know if there is a problem somewhere or if im just missing something. any help will be apreciated. thanks.

Does your truck have a VATS system. If so the key will have to be matched to the VATS module. Any time you loose a key take your registration with the VIN number to a GM dealer and they will cut a duplicate key for you. That way you won't have to change the cylinder and all the problems that go with it.

no vats system. hate to put too much money into the truck now its a beater and i wanna get something newer in the spring.just gotta get it running now so i can get it and my trailer off the road before i get tickets for parking in the road while its snowing.
