I own a 2007 Silverado Crew Cab, LT3, Z71 4x4 with stock rims and tires. I am getting the Check Tire Monitor System warning light on the dash. This occurred several days prior to getting my tires rotated so I figured I'd have my tire guy reset the system once the tires were rotated. As a side note the trouble code shows a no pressure read on the right front tire only (passenger side). After rotation my tire service center relearned all the tire positions and the system was working just fine. After the second day the warning light was back on and it again showed front right side tire. This trouble light only comes on intermittently and goes off after I've shut down the vehicle. There is no rhyme or reason as to when it comes back after I've turned the vehicle on- ie- speed or time of driving. I can only gather that the tire sensors are good b/c I do get a good reading prior to the trouble code and the tire that was originally in that position has since been moved after the rotation and it is now also reading fine. Am I to assume that there is something with the RF frequency read from the right front tire that is causing this? As as side note I did recently have a new navigation head unit professionally installed and I've read on this forum that it may disrupt the RF frequency. I am not sure if I buy this b/c the system does read all four tires correctly prior to the trouble code beginning. I am going to the dealership for some warranty work tomorrow and am going to have them look at this I was just hoping for some insight and knowledge from the forum so I can speak more intelligently with the dealer and avoid the excess costs that always seem to accompany the visit. Thank you all in advance for the help, it is appreciated.
