Hay guys, I need to tap into yalls knowledge. I have an 89 Sierra 4x4. Had snow and ice in my area over the weekend and one of my wheels was on ice, the others were on dry pavement. Shifted into 4x4, and the wheel in ice just continued to spin, and the others did nothing! Doe this vehicle have locking differential?

Look for RPO code G80 on RPO sheet that is on the inside of the glove box door.

if only one wheel was spinning most likely it doesnt have locking differential.. when you have a locking differential both wheel spin simultaneous, if one wheel cant spin the other wont spin either... it possible that you have positive differential.. but not locking differential, in this case.. having a locking differential would had helped you getting out of that situation :sigh:
