Ever since the new tires and bilstein hds the truck rides like a rolling concrete block, i mean is this good or bad for the truck as a whole? i don't really mind the ride but when i hop on the highway going 60mph on shotty roads it gets pretty frickin wild

35 i think...dealer deals with that

Check it your self. If it's 35 or there abouts, blame it on Bilstein.

Mark, how does a shock absorber make a stiff ride unless its for a bigger payload of a truck?

springs and the ride is engineered to the veh, hard hockey puck tires in cold weather will make a ride seem like shit ...

my head hurts now ...lol

If shocks didn't affect ride they would all be the same. I had a 2000 Silverado 2500 EC 4x4. I carried a 3000lbs + camper. I changed out the OEM shocks for adjustable Ranchos. They had 5 settings. The fronts always stayed at 3, loaded or not. The rear 5 loaded, 2 unloaded. If I left it on 5 unloaded It road like a Gawd Damn truck. If at 2 it was like the oem shocks.

The heavier the spring pack the less effect the shock has without a load. With a 1/2 ton it's real easy to have too much shock when empty, especially on the rear. The springs and shocks have to work together, but there's a trade off with both. Also the oem shocks tend the favor the ride over handling.

Thats why shocks for Corvette's magnetic selective ride are $1000 + for four. They ride good and handle great, but on different settings with the same springs.

what do you propose robert for a solution? that dosen;t involve buying different shocks or tires lol

Not Robert, but 400 lbs in the bed might fix it.

it does help, issue i have is the sandbags slide around and bash the bed like cannon balls so until i get time to build a bracket the bed is empty, my main question is..does the stiff ride propose any risks to the truck?

If the stiff ride is so bad it is effecting your handling on those shoddy roads then change them. Crashing will really mess up the truck.
