Air Prerssure Reading In Dic From Onstar

I receive reading from "ON STAR" that each month gives me my tire pressure readings.My question or problem is that they never match on the DIC i have installed in my Silverado, The DIC readings are saying i have enough in my tires 35psi, onstar has a couple psi off on a couple tires.NOW heres the quirk, i use a digital gage to check all my tires every few weeks and I keep tires all at around 36psi.Why do the DIC never give me true readings like the Digital Gage.Is the DIC not acturate as the digital or ON STAR.Just a nagging question i just like to have tires properly inflate for safety.Sorry i hope this isnt boreing for some

My DIC and the tire pressure gage I use (a Snap-On dial type) always match,yet my On-Star email is always off a few pounds,I quit worrying about it awhile ago,although it does bug me a little!

Maybe the OS diagnostic happens in the dead of night when it's coldest out? And most of those digital gauges aren't of the highest quality, if accuracy is important then I'd buy a quality analog type. Then again, 1 PSI isn't going to make much of a difference in normal driving anyhow.

Thats why I do NOT use a digital gage,I use a dial type,this one here....Snap-On

The diagnostic can happen anytime the vehicle is running,mostly though it does happen when the vehicles tires would be "cold" as it would take the readings when you first start the vehicle.

My 10 dollar tire gauge matches my DIC and the gas stations gauge as well.

Funny, I know some people who inflate their tires to where it "looks" good enough.

On star does mine on the 22 of the month regardless if I've started the truck or not. Went on a three month RV trip and I got a report every month with the truck sitting in my garage.

I want to thank all who responded,I did some searching for the Best ?? tire pressure gage and seems like the consenses is the Acc-gage EZ02 Link below .Was cheaper at this site then Amazon and less for shipping .Thanks again

yup, that's how it works. I"ve had two sensors fail in the last two months, yet the onstar email diagnostics never show an issue. Called them up and they said that they only check once a month on the date you signed up. Kinda makes the diagnosis useless IMO.

What PSI do you guys keep the tires inflated to? Do you follow the door at 35 psi ???? Mine are currently at 31 - I'll have to up it tomorrow.

Set the tires to what the door placard calls for. Turn the onstar off, and get a good mechanical guage. Just my .02

My DIC shows about 2-4 pounds off of what my gauge shows.

Bought new gage - thinking it mAy be the gauge it confirmed that my TPS was off.

when i took my truck in for oil change, had them check TPS and they said that they were in tolerance.

really?

10% is in tolerance?

So, now i dont even bother to use the TPS or DIC.

I stick to the old fashion guage method.

I have a high quality dial type as well. My DIC never reads correctly, always says it is low and onstar agrees with the DIC. Is there a way to calibrate the DIC to where it reads properly. I have verified with several pressure guages that the DIC is wrong.

I called Michelin with that same ? (same tire) They said to do what the door called for.

The tires can support over 10,000 lbs. (4) @ 35psi

After noticing outside wear (light) after26,000 miles, I'm now running 35psi
