I broke down and bought one

Well last night at work i broke down and decided to buy a cell phone (free phone plus $50 rebate)

 

$34.99 a month (500 weekday mins and 3000 night and weekend)

 

I didnt think id see the day.  But with everything going on i figure if it comes in handy once itll be well worth it

I cancelled my land-line phone at home over a year ago, I'm saving lots of money thanks to the locak phone company and the B.S. 'local zone call' charges

 

All I use is my mobile phone now  :thumb:

I havent even made it to the 90s I dont guess... Much less the 21st century....

Ha, thought about that first point myself.  I tend to use the caller id feature or let voicemail pick it up if I don't want to talk.  I avoid giving the number out as well.  I didn't really use my first 1 too much, but when the contract was up, I changed providers and got a better deal, so now it gets some use.

I'm still against cell phones and pagers.  Although the pager fad has totally passed..... lol I don't want to be found that and where ever I am, whoever I am with someone has a cell phone, so why buy one?

I used to swear that I would never own a cell phone in my life.  But after having one for about two years, I couldn't go without it.  I only use a landline for occasional local calls, or if I am running low on my minutes.  Which seems to happen monthly since this one girl calls me all the time on my cell phone.  Wasn't so bad when it was just my buddies calling me, but for some reason this girl talks a lot more then my buddies.  LOL

If you dont mind my asking, what brand phone did you go with? It sounds like a pretty good deal, my phone contract is up in a month, and i need to be shopping around...

I have to say at school yesterday 3 of us were messing around cause we found out we could send text messages and emails.  Both of my friends have $150 phones and i was the only one who could get a signal and receive the messages.

 

Free phone plus $50 rebate is awesome
