5.3 W/6speed Auto

Hello,Curious to the rpm range on this tranny say at65mphr.I have a 2011 colorado v8 z71 with 4.10 rears, that is the only ratio i could get with towing package.I know i can't be asking for economy with this set up.I may invest in the 6speed if it make a decent change.Does six speed come with 4 whl.dr.?ss

More info. Are you wanting to put a 6L80 into your Colorado, or are you wanting a 1500 series truck?

THinking about it if it's worth the expense I been in touch with gm about the ratio there probably not going to do anything about it. I think it's piss poor desigh.I never should have taken delivery truck has 2k miles.just looking at another option.

Cheaper to go to a 3:73 or 3:42 gear ratio than install a A6 in a truck that has never had a 6 speed.

I was trying to gain better mileage.After more research the 2011 5.3 w/6spd. silverado 1/2 ton claiming 20 mpg. is the cylinder canceling engine.I couldn't understand how a full size truck got better mileage than a colorado w/5.3 now i know

How much does you truck weigh? Bet is 800-1000 lbs less than a FS. Dont see why you got a tow package with the 5.3 unless your towing the max load.

I do tow but single cycle trailer.I think the tow hitch and z71 only gave me one ratio to get a 4.10.I guess you can't have it all.Something got to give.
