Here is my problem.  Tomorrow is our anniversary.  Tomorrow is also the state finals in sofball.  The tournament starts tomorrow night.  And we plan to stay in that town do to the fact that we have a game saturday morning.  Like I said it is my anniversary.  The wife said it was ok to go.  Do I go and play what we have worked hard for or stay and take her to dinner?  HELP

She said it was OK to go?

riiihhhhhttttt.... that means she is testing you to see what is really important to you.

Unless you plan on sleeping in the truck, I would do the dinner thing....

although.. what year of anniversary is it?

I have re-asked her several times.  She said it is ok because we were only going to go to dinner.  It is 6 years of marriage and 14 years together.

By the way I am a SENIOR now.  Ye ha

congrats on the senior!

ah, then go for it.. but expect to take her out over the weekend (we just celebrated our 7th anniversary and we BOTH forgot about it until 2 days later)  :)would probably give you different advice if it was # 1 or 2

Id go play softball.  Sounds like she knows that it is important to you.

A suggestion why not take her with then after the game go out?

What have you worked longer and harder on?  The season or the marriage?

If you don't take her out for dinner this Friday, you know you better do something twice as good next Friday as a consolation.  Although Ryan has a point too-

Anytime my wife says it's OK to do something with the guys when she has a case for some special treatment, I know she's hoping I'll choose her over the guys.  The benefits of surpassing your wife's expectations far exceed the benefits of being one of the guys.  Tough call, man-

girls are confusing.

You know your wife better than any of us

If she really wants for you to go then go.  If you think its a test then stay

I still suggest she go with (dinner + night in hotel)

I would love to take her but we would have to find someone to take the boys over night.  Plus thier will be 5 guys per room.  And she has to be at the church the next morning for a choir meeting.

Your right newbie, I can feel the heat!!!!

I have one thing to say: DINNER, DINNER DINNER!

Why on earth did you get married during a state tourney week. There are many weeks when there is no state tourney.

You could drive down early Saturday morning. You may be tired but you will make the most important person in you life feel wanted. My $.02

Hey if spending the night with 5 big hairy stinky guys to play a game of softball means more to you than that sweet innocent church going choir singing little bundle of romance you decided to spend your entire life with and who went through hours and hours of painful labor to gave birth to gods greatest gifts, your children, then I say go for it.  I mean , dont feel guilty or anything, just go play softball.  I'm sure she will be just fine.  Single mother.  Alone in her room.  Kids sobbing "mommy! mommy! why did daddy leave us???!!!.  Crying herself to sleep because her man just dont love her anymore.

It'll be fine.  Honest.  Hope you go 4-5, no errors.

Stop it newbie, my eyes are watering.  Not from crying for feeling guilty.  I will try and work something out.  Why can't I have my cake and eat it to?  It's not fair.

Modesty prevents Newbie from telling, but his team, the Niskayuna Nyuck Nyucks, recently won their softball tourney.  The week prior to school staring at VA Tech.  Hhmmmm.........

Mommy:  Wave bye-bye to Daddy kids.

Real Cute Kid #1:  Mommy? Where’s Daddy going?

Mommy: Um, he’s got a big meeting at work sweetie.

Even Cuter Kid #2:  Mommy, why is Daddy taking his cleats and bat to a meeting?

Mommy:  Well, its not actually a meeting baby, he’s, well, he’s got to go to the doctor and he has to stay for a couple of days.

Real Cute Kid #1:  Mommy, why is he taking 5 big fat smelly sweaty friends with him to the doctor?

Even Cuter Kid #2:  Yeah mommy and why do they need to have THEIR cleats to take Daddy to the doctor?

Mommy:  Well, honey, they are there to help Daddy feel better.

Real Cute Kid #1:  Daddy doesn’t feel good does he?

Mommy:  No, he doesn’t.

Even Cuter Kid #2:  I know why mommy

Mommy:  Why honey?

Real Cute Kid #1:  Cuz Uncle Frank never sent Daddy his decal.

Even Cuter Kid #2:  Yeah, I think Uncle Frank hurt Daddys feelings and that’s making him feel bad.

Mommy:  Well, I am sure that Daddys decal will get here and he will feel better real soon.

Real Cute Kid #1:  Isn’t this weekend your and Daddy’s annabersary?

Even Cuter Kid #2:  Yeah Mommy I thought Daddy and you were going to dinner at a special place on your annabersary.  Isn’t Daddy taking you?

Mommy:  No kids, he’s not.  But its ok, Daddy will be back and take me next weekend.

Real Cute Kid #1:  Mommy, Daddys going to play softball like all the other weekends isn’t he?

Mommy:  Yes kids, I guess I should be honest and tell you, he is.  Just like all the other weekends. He’s going with his friends to play softball.

Even Cuter Kid #2: On your annabersary?

Mommy:  Yes, on our anniversary.:

Real Cute Kid #1:  I hope they lose.

Even Cuter Kid #2:  Me too.

Mommy:  So do I.
