Dexcool In Pre 99 Trucks Ok?

Hi,

 

I need to top up my collant in my 93 Yukon and have some Dexcool left over from my 2000 silverado I used to have.

Can I use this in my 93 and can i just top it off on top of the existing green coolant?

Is Dexcool ok to mix with the regular green coolant?

I wouldn't, as it's known to cause headgasket failures on vehicles that weren't meant for it.

Never mix coolant types. No matter what the bottle says. Stay with the green for your truck.

Dont mix coolants,...why take a chance of it turning to sludge?

Green and Dexcool are known to sludge when mixed. When I owned vehicles that took each I turned to the yellow mix with anything and had no troubles.
