Help! Abs Light And Parking Brake Light On After Spinning On The I

Recommended Posts

HI,

The ABS light and Parking brake light are on after spinning on the ice this morning. The brakes work fine. Is anything wrong? My truck is a 2007 (New body) Silverado LT. 2WD with only 27,700 miles.

Thank you.

it sounds kinda like the ABS pump fried.... do you hear a buzzing sound coming from under the truck near the driver's door? This was an issue not too uncommon on the 1999-2006 trucks.

Try a battery pull and see if the codes get reset. If the lights go out take the truck for a drive, if they come on when you are driving it is a speed sensor(wheel sensor).

If it comes on after the battery pull and once you start the truck it is a open circuit or the abs pump. The pump does a diagnostic when you start the truck and then another diagnostic when you are rolling. The other thing you can do to make 100% sure, is take it to a shop and ask them to pull the code.

You spun the rear tires without the fronts moving, the abs module believes that there is a problem with the front sensors because they didn't register the movement. Clear the dtc's that set and drive it. Nothing wrong with the system.
