06 Silverado Exhaust

I know there are a million exhaust threads.

 

I have had an aluminized gibson exhaust system with a magnaflow muffler on my truck for about 6 years. Today I accidentally punched a hole in the tailpipe, on the outside of the bend where the pipe goes over the axle. Needless to say, now the system sounds like crap. There are these same rust spots on all of the outside bends in the pipe, before and after the muffler, so I know its only a matter of time before the whole thing starts rusting out.

 

What would be my best option? I want something that is stainless so I won't have to deal with this issue again. Does anyone have experience with JBA? They have a stainless system for about 360. Any other ideas?

If you were happy overall with the Gibson, Order the stainless steel exhaust. I've been happy with mine

I was happy with it, but the muffler sounded a little raspy for me. I might want to try something a little bit different this time and am open to suggestions.

Has anyone had experience with JBA or should I wait and save up for CORSA? I really don't have the money for CORSA right now, but in the long term, thats a small factor.

I have a Corsa and am very happy with it. I do wish it was a little louder at idle though. I bought mine new off ebay for almost half price and free shipping. If your not in a big hurry to get one keep an eye out there. The install is very easy also.

i had a magnaflow cat-back system on my 07 avalanche and loved it..took me 45 minutes to install it. Sounded great and flowed great!!

I dumped mine right after the exhaust and before the rear axle, I like the way it sounds myself, it has a deep rumble like my old camaro now. Before it had a kinda light sounding but loud tone, it's hard to explain.

Look into the complete catback system from Gibson, muffler included. They have many choices in stainless and if you call them and they can hook you up. Mine has a nice deep rumble, not too loud and no droan with afm. Most people love Corsa but the gibson might be a good, cheaper alternative.

I had the whole Gibson catback, I bought it in 2005. I was able to fix the exhaust leak by scavenging a 3" exhaust clamp and using a scrap piece of metal to cover the hole. I removed the rusted end section and now it dumps right over the rear axle. It sounds deeper now, but I know my fix is just temporary. I'm going to start putting money away for a full stainless magnaflow or corsa, and just get what I want. They're both in the 6-700 dollar range. I want corsa I think, anyone have any complaints about their system? dB or the regular models?
