More Torque!

I have a question for all..what would be the best combination of mods in order to gain the most torque and HP (mainly torque) to comfortably tow anything....and have GOOD takoff

a dirtymax would be the cheapest solution...otherwise as stated gears and a tune...what kind of setup are we talking right now? i assume you have a 6.0?

to the op, please be more vague...

i agree with getting a d-max if you dont have one. and if you are simply looking to add to your gasser, new tune, long tube headders, re gear, new cam and heads...how much are you lookin to spend?

gotta laugh at this....people want a whole bunch of ponies but dont wanna spend any money. lets face it the ONLY real way of making power with a gasser is putting at least 5 grand on the table. tunes are okay for the avergae guy but i know just as much as the next guy. the only way to really get the power is spend about 3-5 grand, at least. internal engine work or turbo or a blower. all will cost a preettty penny. you gotta pay to play.

And if you are going to be towing with it then you might as well pony up the dough for the Duramax or you asking for dependablity issues IMO.

exactly...i agree with the duramax part. but if you buy a gasser, use the extra 10 grand you would have to spend on the duramax and slap a good running intercooled turbo on a 6 litre, with a little tranny upgrade and it would tow just as good if not better. the only thing is fuel mileage. the new diesels aint that hot shit for fuel mileage on that note. (until you rip the hunk of shit DPF & muffler off) its just the new d-maxes are choked out with emissions bullshit. if i was to get a d-max, or i should say when i buy one its gonna be a good low mileage 06-07 LBZ or an 07-08 LMM.

Well thanks for all your input. I don't think I'm gonna get a diesel, i like my gaser. I've got the Predator tune 93 which was a good improvement. I think maybe headers would go nice with the dual Magnaflow setup i just got....it's sounds sick and greatly improved performance.

Whats a good choice for headers?

And what does anyone think of TBS? I got one but cant install it because the neck on top water pump is in the way... can i just twist it to give me the clearance i need?

I wouldn't recommend headers for low end torque(towing), nor a cam either(maybe a small one).

why???????????? long tube headers are great for low end torque....same with different camming...i do not understand why you say this explain
