Drivers Side Door Speaker Replacment Checklist

Ok, I'm going to replace the blowing front door speaker on my 2008 Sierra crew. This is what Crutchfiled says I need. However I"m not going to order from them because I've priced everything at Amazon is it's only $88 shipped. So I want to make sure I'll actually need the stuff I'm going to order from Amazon.

Crutchfiled price: $125 shipped

 

So you can see why I'm going the Amazon route. I've replaced speakers before so I don't need the hand holding, unless they price match?

I wouldn't bother with the harnesses unless you really want them for some reason, other wise just cut the harness of and crimp on connectors.

I just notice the title, you say replace driver side, you plan to replace both fronts right? If you replace only one it will sound terrible.

Are you only letting the factory stereo power the new Infinity speakers or are you using an amp? I'd be curious how they sound as those are the speaker Crutchfield recommended to me for my truck if I was tired to the crappy factory non-Bose speakers. sorry, didn't mean to steal the thread.

Super, yea I'll replace both front speakers.

Yea, I only have the stock HU. No amp, I'm pretty happy with the stock non bose speakers so as long as these new Infinities sound as good or better I'll be happy. And if they sound that good then I'll replace the rears too.
